Studie analyzuje možnosti využití I. vojenského mapování nejen pro rekonstrukci cestní sítě v Čechách ve druhé polovině 18. století, ale také pro poznání jejich kvality a typu. Autorka pracuje s oběma základními součástmi mapování – mapami i topografickými popisy krajiny. I. vojenské mapování je zároveň srovnáváno s mladšími tematickými mapami. Pozornost se soustředí na Prahu a její okolí.

The study analyzes the potential of the I Military Survey not only for the reconstruction of the road network in Bohemia, but also for the quality and status of the roads in the second half of the 18th century. The author employs both essential parts of the I Military Survey: maps and topographical descriptions of the landscape. The I Military Survey is compared with younger themetic maps as well. The attention is paid mainly to the Prague region.
