Na titulním listě Gumppenbergova díla Atlas Marianus (3. vyd., 1657, Knihovna Národního muzea, sg. Dušek 228) je rukopisná poznámka Ex libris Joannis Komensky, kterou katalogizační záznam uvádí jako vlastnoruční přípisek Komenského. Ale je vysoce nepravděpodobné, že by kniha skutečně byla v jeho vlastnictví: 1) rukopis přípisku téměř jistě není rukopisem Komenského, 2) správné čtení příjmení v přípisku by mělo být Kamensky, nikoliv Komensky; 3) není k dispozici žádný jiný doklad toho, že by Komenský vpisoval do svých knih vlastnické poznámky typu Ex libris; 4) tak výrazný a typický projev barokního mariánského kultu, jakým je Atlas Marianus, musel být – v souladu s postojem Jednoty bratrské – daleko za obzorem zájmu J. A. Komenského.

Inscription Ex libris Joannis Komensky alleged as written by hand of J. A. Comenius himself can be read on title page of the Atlas Marianus by Wilhelm Gumppenberg (3. ed., 1657, the National Museum Library, sg. Dušek 228). But it is highly probable that this book wasn't in possession of Comenius: 1) the handwriting of the note is not at all like that of Comenius, 2) the correct reading of the surname should be Kamensky, not Komensky; 3) there is no evidence that Comenius was marking his own books with Ex libris; 4) the Atlas Marianus as typical manifestation of the baroque Marian cultus must have been - in keeping with the attitude of the Unity of the Brethren - far from the area of his interest.
