There was developed method for determination and quantification of collagen types I, II, III, IV, and V in various tissues. The method is based on the collagen fragmentation by cyanogen bromide followed by trypsin digestion. After that, HPLC-MS/MS analyses of the resulting peptide mixtures (peptide maps) were performed.
