Authors ponder about things that necessarily come into one's mind when the results obtained by theoretical, numerical, finite element method and experimental approaches in continuum mechanics are compared and correlated with a pious wish to ascertain which of them is true or 'truer'. Also the role of singularity appearing in mathematical models describ-ing physical phenomena is discussed. Numerous examples from wave propagation in linear elastic continuum are mentioned, as infinite displacement, strain and stress under the point force in solid continuum mechanics, infinite stress at the crack tip in fracture mechanics, etc.
