Článek shrnuje doklady o významu panovnického loveckého hvozdu v okolí hradu Křivoklátu ve středověku a o proměnách jeho využití. Pozornost je věnována sídelnímu pásu vzniklému ve 12. století a zdejším sídlištím, jež vesměs zanikly během následujícího století. Zhodnocení archeologických nálezů z jednoho z nich otevírá otázku sociálního statusu zdejších obyvatel a zároveň odkrývá zdroj chyby v datování zdejší keramiky, jež se stalo oporou aktuálních názorů o vývoji archeologicky zkoumaných hradů v regionu.

The article considers the importance of the royal hunting forest in the vicinity of the Křivoklát castle in the medieval period and the changes in its utilization. Special attention is devoted to the settlement area that originated in the 12th century and the local villages, which generally became extinct in the course of the following century. The evaluation of the archaeological finds from one of these settlements poses the question of the social status of its inhabitants and at the same time uncovers a source of errors in the dating of local pottery, which served as the basis for the archaeological opinions about the development of the royal castles in the region.
