    Capillary isoelectric focusing and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry were used for analysis of intact cells of representative strains of Dickeya species with respect to their characterization. Our results confirm suitability of suggested analytical procedures for rapid and unambiguous differentiation of Dickeya species based on determined pI values or species-specific mass fingerprints.
