Ve čtvrtprovozní skleněné koloně byly změřeny úletové rychlosti kalcinátu (CaO) vysokoprocentního vápence. Navržený soubor jednoduchých regresních vztahů umožňuje přímé výpočty efektivního součinitele odporu, úletové rychlosti a / nebo průměru částic pro zájmovou rychlost plynu.
Experimental measurements of the entrainment (terminal) velocities of high-grade limestone calcine were performed under ambient conditions. Using dried air, experimental runs were conducted with particles of mean sieve size in the range from 110 µm through 450 µm in a glass fluidization column (ID 85 mm). Thus far neglected, Abraham approach was modified and employed to regress the amassed experimental results. A set of predictive, well-founded correlations have been developed that make it possible to easily estimate the effective drag coefficient, the entrainment velocity and/or the diameter (sieve size) of rounded particles just being entrained from the fluidized bed. The proposed formulae are explicit in their form which entirely eliminates the necessity for any trial-and-error computations.
