The stability constant of a hexaarylbenzenebased receptor–protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane complex dissolved in nitrobenzene saturated with water was determined from extraction experiments in the twophase water/nitrobenzene system and γ-activity measurements. Using quantum-mechanical calculations (DFT), the most probable structure of this complex was derived.
