    The paper deals with optical bottle microresonators. The fabrication method based on a CO2 laser shaping of optical fibers is described. Results in the characterization and numerical calculations of the optical properties of prepared microresonators are presented. Results in the excitation of prapared microresonators by a fiber taper are also presented.
