The study deals with the relation of the Catholic nobility to the crusades. It disapproved of them and tried to acquire the money collected in the Empire for the anti-Hussite campaigns for its own military operations. During their expeditions, crusaders often plundered also the estates of Catholic nobility, so that at the conclusion of the Hussite wars for example the West Bohemian royalist nobility devoted more to retaliatory battles on imperial territory than to battles with the Hussites.
