The latest international seismic refraction experiment in the Central Europe SUDETES 2003 covered also the territory of the northern part of the Bohemian Massif. The profile S01 follows the SW-NE axis of the Eger/Ohře Rift in Northwestern Bohemia. The dictinct first arrivals of Pg waves were used to derive a 2-D tomographic velocity model with an optimum lateral resolution. The innovative DRTG method was applied in iterative mode to minimize linearized errors of tomographic inversion. The iteration process yielded a fine-grid velocity model with a required level of RMS travel-time fit and the model rouhgness. The time residuals were assessed at single grid depth levels and used to derive the statistical lateral resolution of "lens-shaped" velocity anomalies: for the 95% confidence level and 5% anomalies, one can resolve their lateral sizes from 15 to 40 km at the depths from 0 to 20 km.
