Vzhledem k členitému reliéfu se na Křivoklátsku vyskytují biotopy s krajními substrátovými a mikroklimatickými poměry – skalní výchozy, kamenité sutě, strmé údolní svahy. Tyto biotopy hostí často vzácné, jinde se nevyskytující druhy pavouků se specifickými ekologickými nároky. K významným biotopům patří skalní srázy. Na Čertové skále byl zjištěn výskyt 34 druhů pavouků. Charakteristickými druhy jsou Segestria bavarica, Theridion betteni, Erigonoplus jarmilae, Lepthyphantes keyserlingi, Altella biuncata a Philaeus chrysops.

Spiders of rock cliffs in Křivoklát region, Central Bohemia, were studied. Segestria bavarica, Theridion betteni, Erigonoplus jarmilae, Lepthyphantes keyserlingi, Altella biuncata and Philaeus chrysops occur in the Czech Republic exclusively or primarily in rocky habitats. The whole region is characteristic by dynamic relief with rich mosaic of original habitats – scree slopes, deep inverse valleys, valley margins with sparse vegetaion, original forests, and river banks. These habitats harbour numerous spider species with specific ecological demands; for some of them represent Křivoklát region the unique place of occurrence in the whole Czech Republic. Two fields of Central European grid map (Nos. 5949 and 6048) are the most species rich in Bohemia with 383 (resp. 353) spider species.
