The article is focused on the painterly ceiling decoration of sala terrena in the Moravian chateau Náměšť nad Oslavou, which is an important art work by Carpoforo Tencalla. In the article, the paintings are newly dated to the 1650, their iconography is reinterpreted and the frescoes are put into relation with the patron – count Ferdinand von Verdenberg.
