    The effect of support acidity on activity in thiophene (TH) and benzothiophene (BT) hydrodesulfurization (HDS) was examined over Pd and Mo supported catalysts. As a support we used mesoporous silica-alumina containing 52 % alumina (MSA52). This MSA52 was modified by HNO3 leaching to decreased contents of alumina (MSA30, MSA19, MSA12, MSA9). The intrinsic activities of Pd and Mo catalysts supported on dealuminated MSA were higher than those related to the original MSA52 for both thiophene and benzothiophene HDS.
