Velocimetry and accelerometry of particles injected in thermal plasma jet is needed for further plasma spraying technology improvement. Temporally and spatially resolved measurements of the particle velocity and acceleration based on optical tracking the particle trajectory are complicated due to high plasma luminosity. We developed a new method to track the particles in the plasma jet based on illuminating the particles by a strong pulse of white light and capturing the scattered light from two perpendicular direction by two multi-exposure CCD cameras equipped with a shared rotating mirror unit and two auxilinary mirrors. The light pulse is generated by a capacitive discharge in a xenon flash lamp illuminating unit.
