The chapter provides a comprehensive overwiev of NMR experimental techniques utilized to characterize complex organic matter – humic acids. The techniques are applied on humic acids isolated form a range of raw materials collected over the whole Czech Republic. The obtained results – amounts of specific functional groups – are thouroughly discussed with respect of other experimental approaches.
