In this study single oxide aerogels of TiO2, ZrO2 and CeO2 and some mixed oxide aerogels, TiO2-ZrO2 and TiO2-CeO2, were prepared by sol-gel process controlled in the reverse micellar environment of the nonionic surfactant Triton X-114 in cyclohexane at ambient temperature. Titanium (IV) isopropoxide, 70 wt-% zirconium (IV) propoxide in propan-1-ol and cerium (III) nitrate hexahydrate were used like metal precursors. The prepared rigid organogels were extracted by subcritical water and/or super/subcritical methanol. The effect of various extraction conditions - temperature, pressure, volume of solvent, flow rate - on textural and structural properties of synthesized metal oxide aerogels was investigated.
