Subject RIV: BM - Solid Matter Physics ; Magnetism
Natural glasses involve quench-created tektites (moldavites) and sedimentary opals. Mechanism of their formation is discussed (quenching rate, rock diagenesis, and dissolution-precipitation). Thermo physical properties are studied by means of thermal analysis (DTA, TG).
