Článek poskytuje přehled o dostupných standardech HL7 a popisuje principy vývoje tohoto standardu. HL7 verze 2 je ve světě nejrozšířenější komunikační standard. Závěr je věnován úvahám o stavu užití standardů pro interoperabilitu systémů v Českém zdravotnictví a výhledu do budoucna.

The article provides an overview of the available HL7 standards and describes the principles of development of this standard. HL7 version 2 is the most widely used communication standard in the world. The conclusion is devoted to reflection on the use of standards for interoperability of systems in the Czech health and to future prospects.
