aThe S/WAVES instrument onboard the STEREO spacecraft measures electromagnetic waves in the solar wind. This unique project allows us to investigate properties of type III and type II radio bursts related to solar flares and propagation of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the interplanetary medium, respectively. We have focused on the High Frequency Receiver (HFR; a part of the STEREO/WAVES instrument) which covers the frequency range 125 kHz similar to 16.025 MHz. We present first results of a goniopolarimetric inversion for an extended source using the Singular Value Decomposition technique (SVD). We show a joint observation (including the WIND spacecraft) of the single type III radio burst connected with the X flare as a preliminary example of estimation of the apparent source size and its position.
