Polarography - being basically a Czechoslovak method - proved its worth in the armament industry during the war. After the war, polarography became the main research subject of the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague; Professor Jaroslav Heyrovský and his assistent Rudolf Brdička (senior lecturer) had marits in further development of this discipline.
