    Understanding of photogenerated charges collection in mixed phase silicon thin films requires taking into account internal electrical fields and their influence on electrical transport. This task is complicated by the nanostructure of the films, composed of conical microcrystalline grains embedded in surrounding amorphous tissue and with typical grain sizes of less than 500 nanometers
