    C. glabrata cnh1 and ena1 mutant strains lacking the alkali-metal-cation exporters encoded by ENA1 and CNH1 genes have been constructed. All genes have been substituted by the Nourseothricin cassette. Finally, the cassettes were excised using a recombinase and leaving a single FRT site in the loci. Unique GMO strains in the C. glabrata background have been created to study the role of alkali-metal-cation exporters in yeast pathogenicity and virulence
