    The complete nucleotide sequence of the cluster (9552 bp, GenBank Acc. No. AM946017) also covered the genes nhr1, nhr2, nhr3 and nhr4 coding for regulatory proteins. All genes of the cluster are transcribed in the same direction. The regions upstream of each gene, potentially containing promoters, were cloned in the promoter-probe vector pEPR1 and their activity in R. erythropolis was analyzed using fluorescence of the GFP (green florescent protein) reporter. Promoter of the ami gene was localized by determination of the ami transcription start point using primer extension analysis
