Publikace si klade za cíl upozornit na postavení žen v české vědě a na důležitost řešení problému genderové rovnosti obecně. První část zprávy nabízí přehled základních statistických údajů, dále shrnuje aktivity institucí v oblasti genderové rovnosti ve vědě v roce 2009, analyzuje diskursivní strategie institucí, jejichž důsledkem je přetrvávající neřešení problému na úrovni vědních politik, a ukazuje, jakým způsobem jsou vědkyně a vědci reprezentováni v předních českých novinových titulech.

The publication aims to highlight the position of women in Czech science and the importance of addressing gender equality on the policy level in general. The first part of the report provides an statistical overview, then summarizes the activities of science and state institutions in the field of gender equality in 2009, continues with analyzing of discursive strategies of institutions, that results in the persistent unactivity at the level of science policy, and shows how are male and female scientist represented in leading Czech newspapers.
