In this work a tensor approach is proposed to consider the real situation of the stress intensity field at the crack. In a certain respect it can be considered an extension of the model handled in [2], in which the existence of a different stress intensity factors before and after the crack kinking is underlined. points out that the consideration of the potential mode-I situation in the prospective propagation direction before kinking does not corresponds to the regular mode-I state as would be present in the mother crack subjected to mode-I loading. Although the constraint state for mode II is not thickness dependent, at least in the “before” state it denotes different constraint conditions than in the case of regular mode-I in the prospective direction
