The gasification of organic waste to produce synthetic gas (syngas) is a specific process of plasma waste treatment. The main purpose of the process is the production of syngas composed mostly of CO and H2. Syngas is a key intermediate for the production of renewable transportation fuels, chemicals and electricity. The paper presents experimental results obtained in medium scale thermal plasma gasification reactor equipped by the gas-water dc plasma torch. The computations of syngas composition and analysis of the energy balance are made for the conditions in this reactor.
