Studie konfrontuje princip neubližování živým tvorům, který patří k nejvyšším etickým zásadám buddhismu tzv. jižního (théravádového) směru, s tendencemi ospravedlňovat použití násilí na obranu Buddhova učení, za jehož vyvolenou zemi sinhalští tradicionalisté odedávna považují Šrí Lanku.
The paper confronts the principle of non-violence towards living beings, one of the loftiest ethical principle of Southern (theravada) Buddhism, with tendencies to justify the use of violence in defense of Buddha's learning in Sri Lanka, considered by the Sinhala traditionalists the chosen land of dhamma (True Law).
