Hydrogenated diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings were deposited on steel substrates in capacitively coupled r.f. discharge. 36. In order to enhance DLC adhesion to the steel substrate TiC/a-C:H composite film playing the role of adhesive interlayer was deposited on the steel surface before the DLC deposition.
