Kapitola se zabývá počátky města Moravský Krumlov na základě archeologických nálezů ze záchranných výzkumů. Nejstarší sídlištní situace lze klást do doby kolem poloviny 13. století a pravděpodobně souvisí s lokací tržního sídliště s farním kostelem. Poloha zahloubených objektů keramikou 13. století ve vozovce Komenského ulice naznačuje, že pravidelný půdorys mohl být vytýčen o něco později.

The chapter is concerned with the beginnings of the town Moravský Krumlov on the basis of the archaeological finds from the rescue excavations. The oldest settlement can be dated about half of the 13th century and probably relates with the foundation of the market-habitation with the parish church. The position of the pits with the pottery from the 13th century in the carriage way of the Komenského street implies a little later alignment of the ground plan of the town.
