    Mefolinate (5-methyltetrahydrofolate) is the predominant circulating folate coenzyme in serum and its quantitative determination is one of several factors used in the diagnosis of folate deficiency. We have developed a new electrophoretic method for the determination of mefolinate in complex matrices of serum, whole blood and urine using the CS Isotachophoretic Analyzer EA 100 Villa Labeco with a column switching system.
