Karel Wenig (1878-1964) vystudoval klasickou filologii, působil jako profesor na gymnáziu a od roku 1920 přednášel na Univerzitě Karlově antickou literaturu. Je autorem třísvazkových Dějin řečnictví řeckého a řady studií o římském písemnictví. Byl členem ČAVU, KČSN a Jednoty klasických filologů při ČSAV.

Karel Wenig (1878-1964) studied the classical philology, he was a professor at gymnasium and since 1920 he lectured on the classical literature at Charles University in Prague. He is a author of three-volume writing Dějiny řečnictví řeckého and of many papers about Roman literature. He was the member of ČAVU, KČSN and Jednota klasických filologů.
