This research article reports on the correlation between localization of five small beta-tubulin regions on A. thaliana microtubule protofilament model and their exposure on cortical microtubules in cells. Using homology modeling it was generated the model for the prediction of surface exposure beta-tubulin epitopes and tyrosine residues. Peptide scans disclosed the position of epitopes and following verification of the results was done by immunofluorescence microscopy concerning that beta-tubulins could be one of the targets for tyrosine kinases. This article can contribute to a better understanding of the interactions of plant microtubules with associated proteins.
