    Theoretical aspects of microchip C4D were investigated in this thesis and are correctly understood. In conclusion, C4D has proven to be an effective detection method in microship electrophoresis and due to its universality for detection of all charged species has gained a great popularity among the analytical chemists. Simple instrumental set-up, minimal maintenance demands and low costs are other aspects which contribute to a considerable popularity of C4D in microchip electrophoresis.
