The paper deals with preaching and publishing activities of Zikmund Domináček of Písnice (approx. 1546-post 1608), one of the less known Catholic priests who actively participated in the process of confesionalisation not only in the Czech Lands but also in the neighbouring Poland in the second half of the 16th century. The paper is especially focused on one of the most interesting Domináček’s sermons, which was given before the assembly of Polish noblemen and published in Prague in 1579. His goal was to improve the relationship between members of the Polish and Czech community and people of Italian nationality and indirectly strengthen the position of Catholic religion in both the countries.
