Hobbesův Leviathan byl napsán během Anglické revoluce a patří k nejdůležitějším dílům moderního politického myšlení. Spis pojednává o povaze suverenity, o stabilním politickém řádu, o tom, jak se vyhnout válkám, a dále o vztahu mezi světskou a duchovní mocí. Publikace je prvopřekladem celého spisu do češtiny.

One of the major works of modern political thought, Hobbes' Leviathan was written during the English Revolution. It deals with the nature of sovereignty, how stable political order might be created, how wars might be avoided, and what is the proper relationship between the secular and spiritual authority.
