Kniha literárního historika Jiřího Brabce je výběrem z textů posledního dvacetiletí. Soustřeďuje se především na otázky a problémy soudobé literární vědy, na témata ideologie, literatury v totalitních systémech, pojednává o výrazných osobnostech (T. G. Masaryk, F. X. Šalda, V. Dyk, E. Chalupný, V. Černý, Z. Kalandra ad.). Rozsáhlá syntetická studie je věnována antisemitské literatuře v době nacistické okupace. Kniha přináší také ukázky z literárních kritik.

The book of literary historian Jiří Brabec is a selection of texts from the last twenty years. It focuses above all on questions and problems of contemporary literary theory, on themes of ideology, literature in totalitarian systems, it deals with significant personalities (T. G. Masaryk, F. X. Šalda, V. Dyk, E. Chalupný, V. Černý, Z. Kalandra and others). The ample synthetic paper is devoted to the anti-Semitic literature in the time of Nazi occupation. The book brings examples from literary critiques either.
