    Analysis of various physiological parameters revealed that the importance of some of the ROS-scavenging enzymes is restricted to relatively young colonies in the first acidic phase, while ammonia production and activation of metabolic changes leading to aged cell adaptation and differentiation are essential for long-term survival of the population
