Parallel to the determination of chemical and elemental composition of indoor and outdoor particles collected in suburban area of Prague time and size resolved indoor/outdoor particle concentrations were measured in dependence on different indoor activities. The measurements were carried out within the URBAN-AEROSOL project aiming to provide an integrated European exposure assessment database for urban PM characterisation through indoor/outdoor monitoring and modelling. The purpose of the measurements presented in this contribution was to study mechanisms controlling the indoor/outdoor relationships of PM by taking into account infiltration, indoor sources, and meteorological conditions. Any inside activity increased substantially indoor aerosol concentration, followed by an exponential decay back to the initial concentration.
