Four new, tyrosine containing humanin derivatives were synthesized, the neuroprotective action was evaluated in the T-maze test and the most active ones were radiolabeled with 125I. Under the experimental conditions used, our data do not confirm the existence of specific binding sites for humanin on the neuronal tissue.
