We synthetised new arylalkanoic acid derivatives bearing methyl(phenethyl)amino groups. These compounds have ability to inhibit the biosynthesis of pro-inflammatory mediator LTB4. Furthermore, we found that 4 of these compounds are more active in the animal model of ulcerative colitis than sulfasalazine, and could therefore be considered as good candidates for ulcerative colitis therapy
