Proces abstrahowania (jeden z typowych rysów matematyki) može byc obserwowany v dzieciecych rysunkach i interpretacjach rysunków. Chociaz temat ten jest bardzo istotny dla praktyki szkolnej, czesto jest pomijany. W naszych badaniach zajmujemy sie geometrycznymi kompetencjami dzieci na poszatku ich szkolnej kariery. W tym rozdziale opisujeme wyniki badan pilotazowych prowadzonych wśród dzieci przedszkolnych.

The process of abstraction (one of the features typical for mathematics) can be observed in children's drawings and interpretations of pictures. Although this issue is crucially important with respect to school practice they are often neglected. In our research we investigated geometrical competences of children at the beginning of school attendance. The chapter describes the results of several pilot studies undertaken with preschoolers.

Proces abstrakce (jeden z typických rysů matematiky) je možné pozorovat na dětských kresbách a interpretacích obrázků. Ačkoli je toto téma velmi důležité pro školskou praxi, je často opomíjeno. Ve výzkumu se dlouhodobě zabýváme geometrickými kompetencemi dětí na počátku školní docházky. Kapitola popisuje výsledky pilotní studie uskutečněné s dvaceti pěti předškolními dětmi.
