The book, resulting from the 6FP DAISIE project, provides an overview and assessment of biological invasions in Europe. It includes summary chapters on invasions by particular groups of organisms (fungi, plants, vertebrates, invertebrates) in terrestrial, freshwater and marine environment, complete list of almost 11,000 alien species recorded in Europe, and detailed accounts of the 100 most serious invaders.

Kniha shrnuje výsledky projektu DAISIE a je prvním celkovým zhodnocením biologických invazí v Evropě. Obsahuje shrnující kapitoly o jednotlivých skupinách (houby, rostliny, obratlovci, bezobratlí) v suchozemském, sladkovodním i mořském prostředí, úplný seznam téměř 11000 druhů v Evropě registrovaných nepůvodních organismů a podrobné texty o 100 nejzávažnějších invazních druzích s mapami rozšíření.
