Reproduction is complicated process with many crucial steps. One of the most important is the meeting of spermatozoa with oocyte. Oocyte is transported with follicular fluid to the oviduct after ovulation. Follicular fluid (FF) surrounding the oocyte during its follicular development in the ovary contains similar components as plasma. We confirmed that the concentration of FF proteins depends on the maturation level of follicle. We found mainly differences in some proteins and glycoprotein saccharide structures between FF of distinct mammalian species. We found increasing activity of specie-specify glycosidases, like α-mannosidase in pigs and α-fucosidase in cows during their follicular maturation. These higher activities could correlate and participate on sperm release from the oviductal reservoir immediately after oocyte ovulation.
