The effects on plant telomere maintenance have been studied in several epigenetic factors. While DNA hypomethylation did not affect telomere lengths, loss of HMGB1 or mutation in FAS genes caused telomere shortening.
Byly zkoumány vlivy několika epigenetických faktorů na udržování rostlinných telomer. Zatímco hypomethylace DNA neovlivnila délku telomer, ztráta HMGB1 nebo mutace ve FAS genech měly za následek zkracování telomer.
