Problematika sociální stratifikace a sociálních nerovností je součástí širokého spektra témat, kterými se sociologie zabývá. Tuto skutečnost je možné ukázat například i na počtu článků publikovaných celosvětově v odborných časopisech. Přesto, že články představují pouze určitou část vědecké produkce, možnosti jejich citační analýzy patří v mezinárodním kontextu k velmi rozvinutým oblastem.
Social stratification and social inequalities issues are considered as parts of a wide range of topics sociology is focused on. It is possible to illustrate it e.g. with number of articles published in scientific journals. Although articles represent only one specific part of scientific publication productivity, tools for citation analyses of articles are considered relatively well developed within the international context.
