The design, calibration, and performance of the first radial drift Time Projection Chamber (TPC) are presented. The TPC was built and installed at the CERES/NA45 experiment at the CERN SPS in the late nineties, with the objective to improve the momentum resolution of the spectrometer. The upgraded experiment took data twice, in 1999 and in 2000. After a detailed study of residual distortions a spatial resolution of 340 µm in the azimuthal and 640 µm in the radial direction was achieved, corresponding to a momentum resolution of &u916p/p = (1% &u8729 p/GeV)2 + (2%)2 .

Je prezentován design, kalibrace a provozní vlastnosti první radiální driftové Časové Projekční Komory (TPC). Tato TPC byla zkonstruována a nainstalována koncem devadesátých let v CERN na SPS v experimentu CERES/NA45 s cílem zdokonalit impulsové rozlišení spektrometru. Zdokonalený experiment nabíral data dvakrát, v roce 1999 a v roce 2000. Po detailním studiu residuálních distorzí bylo dosaženo prostorového rozlišení 340 um v azimutálním směru a 640 um v radiálním směru, což odpovídá impulsovému rozlišení u916p/p = (1% u8729 p/GeV)2 + (2%)2 .
