Článek vysvětluje použití metody konečných prvků pro řešení Poissonovy rovnice a podává přehled základních přístrojů pro výpočet aposteriorních odhadů chyby přibližného řešení. V závěru je zmíněno použití aposteriorních odhadů pro adaptivní zjemňování sítě.

The paper describes the finite element method for the solution of the Poisson equation and surveys the most common approaches for a posteriori error estimation. The usage of the a posteriori error estimators for adaptive mesh refinement is mention at the end of the paper.
