Příspěvek se věnuje pouličním demonstracím v Brně v roce 1908, které se konaly při oslavách 60. výročí jubilea Františka Josefa. Jako pramen používá dobový brněnský český a německý tisk. Ukazuje, jak byly skupiny demonstrantů klasifikovány nacionálně, analyzuje nacionální symboly a všímá si, jak byly v novinách vytvářeny národní mentální mapy centra Brna.

The article deals with the street demonstrations in Brno in 1908 that took place during the celebrations of the 60th jubilee of Franz Joseph. It is based on both Czech and German contemporary Brno newspapers. It analyses how the newspapers classified the rioters according to their nationality, it also analyses the national symbols used during the riots and it describes how national mental maps of Brno City centre were created by the journalists.
