The effect of the chronic and acute antioxidant tempol (superoxide dismutase mimetic) treatment on cardiac ischemic tolerance was investigated in adult male rats. The acute tempol-treated rats exhibited increased the number of ischemic and reperfusion arrhythmias and a tendency to decrease infarct size as compare to chronic-treated group or untreated control

V této studii jsme sledovali vliv akutního a chronického podáni mimetika superoxid dismutázy tempolu na ischemickou toleranci srdce laboratorního potkana. Zjistili jsme, že akutní podání tempolu vedlo k nárůstu počtu a závažnosti ischemických a reperfuzních arytmiií a mělo tendenci snížit velikost infarktu v porovnání s kontrolními potkany a skupinou zvířat chronicky léčenou tempolem
